And it's summer in the city...

 Good morning everyone,

The time has come: This weekend is the Fête de la Musique in Geneva, an event I have been looking forward to since last year. In the entire city every kind of music is represented during three days without paying any fee. Therefore I yesterday went seeing The Postmen, Catalpas, Trio Dorin Gall and other different ensembles. Today I scheduled a few more concerts which I go to with my Mom before I drag her to have an original NY cheesecake in a lovely café downtown.
Moreover the occurence is a tradition for me and my friends in order to meet again after having been apart for a long time as we study at different places.

On Thursday it was the first official day of summer, so I want to post a new summer outfit that found my way into the closet.

The announced internship started in the middle of the week. So far I really appreciate my work and the people I work with are also sympathic. To brief you quickly about what I do: The company sells products for aestethical surgeries (not that I would ever do that) and I can call myself an export trainee. This position supports not only the sales export team (promotions, distribution) but I also get in touch with the event marketing team organizing and helping them in their department.

Enjoy your Sunday & your week, I will now continue my artistic voyage!

Impressions

The weather queered my pitch in the beginning: there was nothing else to do but to watch Gossip Girl, the French tennis tournament Roland Garros (at least my favourite Nadal won) and the European Soccer Championship. And to delete "friends" on facebook.
But then suddenly, the sky cleared off and I could put my plans into action: Two days of sunshine enabled me to go to the lake and to watch the yearly regatta with houndreds of sailing boats, an event I have never attended to before.
Finally I also got booked for a theatre play in my old school to do hair and make up. As each year I had a lot of fun preparing the actors for their big moment and could put strong make up that underlined their expressions. The play itself was phenomenal, so that I felt a little guilty and sad that I wasn't on the stage.

While being at home, a tedious habit came back: Snacking between the meals although I am not hungry at all. Then I grab for whatever in the fridge just to overcome boredom. Is that normal? Do you have any tips for eviting that vice?
I can only hope that it becomes better when I start my one month internship next week. Oh, sorry, it occurs tu me that I haven't mentioned it yet to you. It takes place in a pharmaceutical company where I will support the event marketing team. I am looking forward for this job and will tell you more about within the next weeks.

Last Sunday my Dad cooked a meal and I helped him preparing it. Suddenly the idea popped up to additionally cook some dessert, so we tried this simple recipe with basic ingredients: a cherry clafoutis.

500 g cherries (without stones)
30 g icing sugar
3 tsp cherry brandy
4 eggs
1/2 vanilla bean
80 g sugar
150 g flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 l of milk

First of all top the cherries with the icing sugar as well as the cherry brandy and put them aside for one hour. In the meanwhile stir the eggs with the sugar until you get a foamy pastry. Add salt and the vanilla afterwards. Now fold the flour and the milk into. Choosing an appropriate buttered form (attention: the pastry proves), fill in one third of the pastry. Then layer the cherries above before layering the rest of the pastry. Bake the clafoutis 40-45 minutes at 180°C. In order to serve, spread some extra icing sugar on top of it. In contrast to the hot clafoutis, serve it with cold vanilla ice cream. Bon appétit!

Paris, my love

Good morning everyone,

After a wonderful week in Paris I am back at my parents' in Geneva where I will stay the next month. Here are some photos I took while being in the French capital.

Each time I am in Paris, I am stunned by the beauty of the city. I hope that the pictures reflect my impressions. As you can see I haven't taken many pictures of the typical attractions because I wanted to get to know my friend's neighbourhood better. From former visits I already know the touristic places well, so that we concentrated more on hidden spots in the city. But if you are up to go Paris, just drop me a short comment because I can give you some really nice tips far away from tourists.
This time I went to lunch and dinner with some real Parisian girls (no, they don't eat a lot), spent a nice night out in Versailles, did some shopping and toured through the city on a bike.

My relocation is also done. Everything fit into the car (admittedly, it was little space left) and is now stored at some friends' place. The move also gave me the opportunity to visit my grandmother who is in a delicate state of mind. But I was glad to see her again, so we had some coffee together.

Now beeing back with my parents is a little awkward because I have been living alone for nearly a year now. Upcoming week I will meet some friends as well as I need to look for an apartment in Duesseldorf (any suggestions?). I just want to benefit from my free time.

I wish you a great week and hope to see you next Sunday.

P.S. Probably you have recognized that my photos are all "effected". This is not only because I am a friend of Instagram but also because my camera quality is really bad. As far as I get a new camera, my pictures will be presented in a normal shape. Promised!

Short notice for a start

Dear followers,

Once my grandparents said that time is running. Being now an adult I realize that this is true. Incredibly I have just passed one year of studies and I can remember the first day as if it was yesterday. I met so many great people, I learned so much about life - retrospectively the last months were some of the best in my life.

I am glad that the exams are over now. Some went better, some less (sitting next to hot guy doesn't help to write good exams, believe me). The party on Friday was as good as each End of the World Party is. Regarding my question of last week, I ended up wearing a torn old t-shirt. And I am officially allowed to call myself a survivor because I only drank little as I started packing my stuff yesterday morning without any hangover.

Honestly within a year you accumulate some many things. In one hour I will pick up a car and cross my fingers instantly that everything fits into it.

On Thursday I had dinner together with my flatmates. I tried this tart and can only recommend it. Although the mixture of onions, apples and cheese seems to be a little awkward in the beginning, the tart is really savory. After having dinner yesterday night, my friends and me, we spontaneously went to a party to say goodbye to everyone. Sad and happy moment at the same time.

I am now looking forward to my holidays. Next week I will spent in Paris at a friend's before going to my parents in Geneva. Of course, photos of my trip will be published next week.

I wish you a pleasant week and we see each other next week.
Apologies that this post is one of the shortest and most boring I ever wrote, but I still have to do so much stuff.
